Sandia Peak, Sipapu, and Pajarito—three unique New Mexico ski areas, all connected under one pass and one powerful idea: that every upgrade we make is for you. Whether it's easier access, earlier openings, or better gear, these improvements aren’t just changes on the mountain—they're enhancements to your day, your season, and your time with us.

Together, these resorts create a tight-knit triangle just hours apart, and now, with major enhancements on the way, there’s never been a better time to explore all three.

Meet the New Mexico Power Pass Mountains

All three resorts are part of the Power Pass Core—New Mexico’s local season pass—and they each bring something unique to the table while sharing one common goal: making your skiing better.

  • Sandia Peak – Just a short drive from Albuquerque, this mountain makes spontaneous ski days possible. Whether it’s a quick morning lap or a full day of action, Sandia’s convenience as the closest ski resort to a metropolitan area is unbeatable.

  • Sipapu – Famous for having the longest ski season in New Mexico, opening early and closing late, Sipapu is the spot for families, learners, and anyone who appreciates a relaxed, skiing first culture near Taos.

  • Pajarito – High above Los Alamos, Pajarito delivers incredible views and a challenge for more advanced skiers and riders looking for steep terrain and a strong community feel.

These three resorts are all about easy access, flexibility, and community—getting you more days on snow, more variety in terrain, and more opportunities to make memories, without the hassle.

Upgrades That Make a Difference

This season, all three mountains are investing in meaningful improvements designed to give you more ski days with even greater fun!

Sandia Peak

This past winter, Chair 4 was fully reconstructed—a major win for beginner accessibility. More families and new skiers were able to hit the slopes with confidence and ease, all thanks to this lift’s return. But it doesn’t stop there: plans are in motion to attempt the revival of Chair 2 and upgrade the snowmaking system this summer. These improvements will help open the mountain earlier and keep it open longer, meaning more days and better snow conditions for New Mexico!

Sipapu

Sipapu continues to shine with innovative enhancements aimed at getting guests on snow sooner and keeping conditions solid through the season. This year brought:

  • Five new snowmaking hydrants on the popular Butterfly trail for quicker, more consistent snow coverage.

  • Two new high-efficiency snowmaking pumps, which allow snow to be made faster and delivered quicker to the mountain.

  • A refurbished snowcat, delivering smoother, freshly groomed trails and helps to preserve snow by packing it down.

  • Plus, new for 2025-2026, $50K in new rental equipment, so guests—especially beginners and families—have better gear and a better first experience.

These aren’t just behind-the-scenes improvements. They’re upgrades that guests feel the moment they step onto the mountain.

Pajarito

Big things are happening at Pajarito, with a focus on long-term guest safety and snowpack. Through the Jemez Mountain Fire Protection Project, the resort is:

  • Building a pipeline from Los Alamos to improve water access for snowmaking.

  • Enhancing electric and fiber optic infrastructure for better operations, communication, and guest experience.

  • Installing advanced fire protection systems to protect the mountain and the community that surrounds it.

These upgrades support not just the future of Pajarito but also a more dependable season for guests, with better snowmaking, smoother operations, and peace of mind.
