Yes BUT… You must already have your equipment (skis, snowboard, boots etc.) because you have to ski or board over 2 miles to get to our rental shop. Also, if you are planning on a Never-Ever lesson you will end up teaching yourself because the lessons meet at the bottom of the mountain. We recommend that you plan to drive to Sandia Peak until you are proficient skiing from the top of the mountain.

Sandia Peak Ski Area is not associated with the Sandia Peak Tramway.

We DO NOT allow sledding or snow tubing on our mountain as it can cause danger to the sledder as well as others.

We are between a 30 and 45 minute drive from the metro area.

Sandia Peak, as the first ski resort in the state, provides an authentic New Mexico ski experience in a welcoming, family-friendly environment—ideal for newcomers to the sport. With a short drive from Albuquerque, we're proud to offer our guests both accessibility and convenience.

Our ski area is focused on families, especially kids! We provide a FREE Power Kids Pass for all children 12 and under, with no strings attached. While we do not offer child care, if your children are new to the sport, we also have lessons for ages 4-6.

Double Eagle blue ski run, named after the famed balloon crossing of the Atlantic, is a truly epic Sandia Peak trail. It features rolling terrain dropping through a unique gully between two cliff sides then arriving at Panorama Point with an impressive view of Northern New Mexico. There the trail cruises to the base area with a variety of wide open options to the lift.

Our resort's close proximity to Albuquerque makes it the ideal spot to enjoy the city's offerings after a day on the slopes. Experience a vibrant nightlife packed with live music, entertainment venues, theaters, and a wide array of incredible dining options just a short drive away.
